Spring has Sprung

Earlier this week Kirsten got our garden started. Taco was helping too, and the two of them got some peas, watermelon radishes and arugula planted. Fingers crossed they’re able to survive the chilly May nights up here in the Custer valley.

This was the backyard scene a few weeks earlier, we had a spectacular view of the northern lights. We’re lucky to live somewhere with minimal light pollution – that, combined with skies clear of clouds, resulted in an amazing show of green and purple lights dancing above us.

Meanwhile in the Black Hills the weather is getting nicer, and I’m starting to re-learn how to walk, bike and hike. I recently read a nice poem about spending time outside

“I left home alone
and returned
accompanied by the universe”
